CU Amiga's Super CD-ROMs

CU Amiga Magazine's CUCD cover CDs have met with universal acclaim and have even spawned imitators. Now we're calling on you, the reader, to help us compile the next bigger and better CUCD, the CD to end all CDs. Doing so will put you in the running to win some excellent prizes as well as having your work immortalised in the World's most widely distributed Amiga CD.

STOP PRESS

As many will know, there's been a problem with our CUCD10. It's actually a bug in the Commodore CD filing system so if you install AmiCDFS 2, the problem goes away. However, there's no installer and it's not easy to get working with CD32s and the A1200 CD32 emulation provided with the Squirrel. For this reason, we've decided to remaster CUCD10 for those who can't sort the problem out themselves. If this is you, E-mail cucd10@cu-amiga.co.uk with your name, address and telephone number.

We thank all our readers of the CD edition for their patience.

Our Super CD-ROMs are CD32 compatble, self booting Amiga CD-ROMs with a full Workbench 3.1 installation. We used NewIcons throughout the CD but the standard icon images continue to use the Iconographics icon set for compatibility with Amigas not running the NewIcons system.

There's a load of regular sections which appear each month. Among this is superb off-line Web site which has a wealth of WWW sites, both Amiga related and general interest, to browse right off the CD.

Other sections include Comms, Utilities, Magazine, Games, Demos, Previews, CD-ROM and of course much expanded versions of the usual superb commercial packages that you could expect to find on CU Amiga's floppy disks.

Our CD's ARE compatible with other platforms so if you don't own a CD-ROM for your Amiga, you can copy material onto floppies (lots of them) from a machine that does.

Recent CUCDs are compiled by Neil Bothwick and so enquires and submisions should be directed to him in the first instance. From there, our Technical Editor Mat Bettinson adds the last magazine related material, checks and masters the CD for duplication.

It took CU Amiga Magazine some time to perfect producing the highest quality Amiga CD-ROMs for monthly publication. For an entertaining history into the early days of the legendary CUCDs, check out our CUCD readme page?
